RULES

1. Each Participant may only enter one car. The car should be built for the current year of competition and not raced in previous years.

2. The Cub Scout must be present for the car to compete.

3. A car can be modified between the Pack, District and Council race but should be the same car.

4. Use only Official BSA Grand Prix Pinewood Derby Kit wood, wheels and nails. Any cars or parts bought off Ebay, at Hobby Lobby or any other place that alters the original parts will be disqualified.

5. Wheels may only be lightly sanded to smooth out molding imperfections in the tread area. Beveling, tapering, thin sanding, wafering or lathe turning of the wheels is prohibited.

7. Wheel bearings, washers and bushings are prohibited.

8. Axles must be placed in the original axle grooves. The grooves may be modified slightly as necessary to square with respect to the body but must retain the original wheel base and placement front and back. 9. Cars can be designed to run in either direction.

10. Axles cannot be grooved, or otherwise altered beyond light sanding to remove any burrs.

11. No aftermarket wheels or axles are permitted.

12. Only dry lubricant is permitted. No Liquid.

12. Details such as fenders, steering wheel, a driver and decals are permissible as long as these details do not exceed the width, length, height, clearance and weight specifications. All details must be securely attached to the car.

13. All Cub Scouts may race.

14. NO Glue on axles.

15. All  four Wheels must touch the track at once.

2. The car will be impounded after registration, inspection and weigh-in. You will not be allowed access to your car until the end of the event.

3. Race officials may authorize repairs when damage is caused by collision with another vehicle or object. Repairs must be completed within a limited time allowed by the Race Officials.

4. Sportsmanlike conduct is expected at all times. Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated.

5. If a car leaves the track in two (2) consecutive races, it is disqualified. EXCEPTION: When a car is caused to leave the track because of a collision with another car.

6. All Decisions Made By The Race Officials Are Final!
