| The Purpose of Wood Badge is to strengthen units. Wood Badge is an advanced, intense, experiential course on small-group leadership. There are presentations and activities. There are games, but there is no dead time – the games are all with a purpose. The course, and working your ticket afterwards, will help you make your Scouting unit stronger, and will also help you in your work, church, family, and everywhere else. The first Wood Badge course ever was in England in 1919. Thus, 2019 is the 100th anniversary of Wood Badge. Wood Badge is for all adults in Scouting: anyone age 18 or older, male or female, involved with Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing, Sea Scouts, Exploring, district, or council. The only requirements for attending Wood Badge are: that you be registered in the Boy Scouts of America, and that you have taken the basic training for your position, most of which can be taken online through my.Scouting. The course takes a full five days, from about 7:00 a.m. the first day to about 5:00 p.m. the last day of each weekend. You must be there for all of both weekends (on the same course). Once you have been on course, that requirement will make a lot of sense. If you took the course in 1950 and have proof you took it (or the comparable course) then it is still valid today. However, when there are major curriculum changes it is recommended that you take the course again: recommended - but not required! IOLS, BALOO, WILDERNESS FIRST AID, CPR are all required to be completed at various points. Due to various needs and services both Sinclair District and Orca District team up to provide these courses throughout the year. | | | | | | | | |  | SEATTLE COUNCIL The Program and Training Conference (PTC) is a one stop training opportunity for leaders and parents from the entire council to get together and learn more about Scouting. The all day conference features many outstanding opportunities for both position-specific and supplemental training adult leaders in Cub Packs, Scout Troops, Venture Crews and Sea Scouts, as well as district and council committees. It's all at PTC and as you can see in the name... it's about Program and it's about Training which will create a better Scouting program for the youth we serve. - When

The registration fee includes classes, lunch, patch, and resource materials. The fee for BALOO includes three sessions of BALOO on the morning of the conference, an additional three sessions of your choice on the afternoon of the conference and meals for the overnight campout. To help guide you in your class choices, we also provide program specific class lists for Cub Pack adults, Scout Troop adults, Venturing Crew adults, Sea Scout adults, Commissioners and youth. All direct contact leaders: Cubmasters & assistants, Den Leaders (Tiger, Wolf, Bear, & Webelos) & assistants, Scoutmasters & assistants and Crew Advisors & associates. Order of the Arrow Banquet The T'Kope Kwiskwis Lodge Banquet is in "The Grove" of the new Health Sciences Building at 5:30pm-9:30pm. All are welcome, including non-OA members. The cost is $35 before October 14 and $45 after. Midway Visit the Midway between 9 AM and 2:40 PM to meet representatives from scouting groups, programs and camps.
