Public About Us - Boy Scout Troop 529 (Mount Pleasant, South Carolina)

WELCOME!

We are Troop 529 in North Mount Pleasant. Our Charter Organization is Saint Benedict Catholic Church. We were founded in October 2012. We meet on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM at the church.

We are a boy run troop: Scouts elect their own Leaders, run the meetings, and choose their activities. We believe in providing the Scouts with guidance and leadership but at the same time empowering them to make their decisions. This will be their foundation for future decision making and leadership skills that they will need as they grow into fine young men.

During a typical meeting, the Scouts fall into patrols and do Scout skills that were chosen by their patrol leaders. Then they do a Skill enhancing fun activity. Weather permitting, we will be doing some activities outside. The meeting concludes at 8:30 PM.

We plan an outing every month including a high adventure activity once a quarter.

Boy Scouts is for boys age 11 years old and who has completed the fifth grade or a boy who was in Cub Scouts and earned the Arrow of Light Award and is at least 10 years old but is not yet 18 years old.
