Uniforms and Handbooks
There’s not much you need to get your child started in Cub Scouts
Here is what you should start with:
· A Cub Scout Neckerchief for the level appropriate for your child (see below)
· A blue Cub Scout shirt (children in 4th or 5th grade may wear the khaki colored scout shirt - we suggest SHORT sleeves)
· A numeral “1” for the shirt to show that you belong to Pack 1 and a Council Shoulder patch for Northern New Jersey Council
· A neckerchief slide (unfortunately they have now created different slides for each level of Cub Scouting. You can buy one for the appropriate level if you like, or use an old one or use a homemade slide of any kind.)
· A Cub Scout Handbook
1st Grade – Tiger Cubs
Tiger Cub Handbook and orange neckerchief
2nd Grade – Wolf Cub Scout
Wolf Handbook and gold neckerchief
3rd Grade – Bear Cub Scout
Bear Handbook and light blue neckerchief
4th and 5th Grade – Webelos Scout
Webelos Handbook and plaid neckerchief
(Webelos may wear the khaki Scout shirt if they like. It is optional)
