We started this meeting with the Cub Scout Promise. We did this because The Promise is the foundation of Cub Scouting. It's not just some words we say to earn the Bobcat badge. It's not just something we recite when we're at meetings, or in uniform, or when someone tells us to. It's something we are supposed to LIVE. At a pack or den meeting, at school, at recess, at home, anywhere you are, this is what YOU have promised to do. Whether you're in first grade, or fifth grade, or you're 47 years-old, whenever you have a difficult decision to make, ask yourself, "Is this what I promised to do"? If you can answer to yourself, not to anyone else, but to YOURSELF, YES, this is what I promised, the chances are you'll make the right choice.
