When all ages of Pack 566 Cub Scouts meet

Currently the the Pack is meeting
outside at Kevin Moran Park in
Saratoga, far left end next to tennis
court.  We sit in socially distanced
family units.
Just a Cub or Den at a time comes up to
stage.  Every Cub usually gets a chance.
Even shy Kindergarten Cubs soon loose
there shyness and our eager to talk to
the group. (part of leadership building).

What is a Pack Meeting?

A Pack meeting includes all the members of the Pack: Cubs, parents, siblings, and leaders. Typically, at least one parent attends with the Cub Scout but often it is a family affair.  The meetings run an hour or so with some special events lasting longer.

What is the format of a Pack Meeting?

An opening flag ceremony.
Announcements.
Den performed skits (short plays)
Recognition of Cub Scout Advancement (skills or activities completed)
Main activity
Game or Raffle
Closing Flags

When and Where are Pack Meetings Held?

As part of Pack 566's Covid 19 conservative re-entry into live in-person scouting we are meeting outside in the open.  Currently Kevin Moran Park in Saratoga, far left end next to the tennis court.  Meetings are at 7pm and we have our own power and lighting systems to bring daylight to night.
When the rains come we will move location to our sponsor Menlo Church (next to Saratoga High School).  Note we have no religious affiliation with Menlo Church.   In fact, what ever religious requirements are done in our program they are done in the home and not discussed in group settings.
Special event Pack meetings and summer pack meetings may be held in other locations and at different times. Specific information about these meetings will be included in email communications to Pack families.
What are some examples of the Main Activity at a Pack Meeting?
Cub Scout Carnival - events created by the Dens and Pack Committee.
Bike Rodeo - Bike inspections, adjustments, riding events, and prizes.
Pinewood Derby - Cub built model car race.
Blue & Gold Dinner - Annual awards potluck dinner and show.
Neckerchief Ceremonies - Presentation of rank neckerchief & slide at start of the Scouting year.
