About Cub Scouting

In Cub Scouting you'llhave lots of fun, adventure, and activities with your den and pack. But there'smore to it than that. Being a Cub Scout means you are a member of a worldwideyouth movement that stands for certain values and beliefs. Cub Scouting is morethan something to do. It's all about the boy you are and the person you will become.

As a Cub Scout, you doyour best and you help others. You learn the Scout Oath and the Scout Law. Youalso learn what they mean.

The Scout Oath

On my honor I will domy best
To do my duty to God and my country
And to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight.

A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly,courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

About Pack 257

We have approximately50 boys, and about 10 parents in leadership positions. Pack 257 is chartered bythe Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #236 in Irwin, PA.

Pack Activities

Our Pack typically does one activity each month - outings, overnights, serviceprojects, etc. Activities are scheduled throughout the year, including thesummer months. We typically to at least two camping sessions available for allboys during the summer months - one resident camp session (includes weekdays),and one weekend family camping session.

Meetings

Pack meetings are generally on the fourth Monday of each month at the IrwinMoose, 530 Oak Street in Irwin. If school is not in session (scheduled timeoff, or cancellation due to a weather emergency), we typically do not meet.Dens usually meet three times a month, and are scheduled by the Den leaders.
