Troop 86 is a “Youth Led” organization. The Scouts, through their elected leaders, are responsible for the running of the Troop. It is our goal that all activities, including Troop meetings, Patrol Leader Council meetings, and service projects, are led by the Scouts, not the adults. Adult leadership is in place to guide, advise, and ensure that the program is safe and follows the ideals of Scouting, but we believe that true leaders are built by actually LEADING!
Fellowship is important to the development of young men. Our program focuses on the ability to work with others within the Patrol and Troop setting, and to be able to depend on one another. By performing service to the church and community, the Scouts of Troop 86 have the opportunity to use their leadership and fellowship to do something good for others.
Troop 86 is chartered with Grace United Methodist Church in Olathe, Kansas and Troop meetings are held every Monday night at the Center of Grace location <see map below>.
Troop 86 is part of the Iron Horse District in the Heart of America Council. You can learn more about the Troop by viewing information accessible through the links on the left-hand side of this page or by coming to a Monday night meeting.
Troop 86 is more than just a Troop...it's a family!
