Scoutmaster's Message
The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law; and an appreciation of their duties to God, community and Country. In addition, it strives to help scouts develop leadership skills, emotional strength and physical fitness. One of the hallmarks of Troop 4077 is the service it provides to its sponsoring organization and its surrounding community.
We strive to run our troop by the values that govern scouting:
Scout Oath | | Scout Law |
On my honor I will do my best To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; To help other people at all times; To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight. | | A Scout is: Trustworthy Loyal Helpful Friendly Courteous Kind | | Obedient Cheerful Thrifty Brave Clean Reverent | |
Our troop is boy run and emphasizes the use of the patrol method in doing so. The scouts themselves organize and plan events using the patrol method, which allow them to learn quickly by doing it themselves. The troop's adult leadership is present to guide and support them. My goals as Scoutmaster are to keep the boys interested in scouting as a fun activity and help them mature into responsible young men. I encourage you and your son to visit Troop 4077 where you will be able to see for yourself how our troop operates as well as meet our fine scouts and parents. Please feel free to contact us with questions or to set up a visit; you are also invited to attend one of our meetings at any time. Thank you for considering Troop 4077.
