Welcome to Pack 517!
The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation's largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. The scouts provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness.
Cub Scouting is fun! No matter what grade you are in, Kindergarten through fifth, it can be a blast. Do you like to learn by doing? This is just the place. You can learn to tie knots, set up a tent, or shoot a bow and arrow. Have you ever cooked a meal on a campfire, sent a secret code to a buddy, built a birdhouse, played Ultimate, hiked? Earn rewards for doing these things in Cub Scouts.
Since its beginning, the Cub Scout program has been a fun and educational experience concerned with values. Besides providing a positive place where scouts can enjoy safe, wholesome activities, Cub Scouting focuses on building character, improving physical fitness, teaching practical skills, and developing a spirit of community service.
Pack 517 meets most Thursdays from 6:30pm to 7:30pm at Mechanicsville United Methodist Church.
