Costs
Pack 700 has several fees involved in order to join Boy Scouts of America.
-National Membership for one year for youth members is $119 paid to our national organization
-Adult membership in BSA is $99 a year
-Unit dues: $70 for the year broken down into two payments (Fall and Spring). Scouts and their families can participate
in selling popcorn every fall to offset this cost and other activity based fees.
-Camping (unit or council): camping depending on whether the unit sponsors or is sponsored by our council that operates scouting in our area often comes with costs. Council weekend activities can cost from $35 to $50 per person (3 day/2 night), day camps in summer can cost ~$135 (1 week long day camp), and cub resident camps cost ~$175 per youth/$100 per adult (4 days/3 nights).
Summer meetings
Pack 700 does not meet regularly over the summer to be able to welcome interested families wishing to join cub scouts. Please reach out through email on joining and to ask any questions you have about the program. Our new member coordinator or cubmaster will be in touch on how to proceed.
RECRUITMENT NIGHT(s) / joining a pack
Monday September 16th at 6:30 PM @ Dorchester Presbyterian Church.
The pack will be sending flyers home to students at several area DD2 schools as well as the surrounding communities of Dorchester Presbyterian Church. Any youth is welcome from any part of the Lowcountry and being a student at one of these schools does not limit you to only joining Pack 700.
During recruitment night your child(ren) will participate in scout activities with current members of our pack while leaders will go over all of the basics of this fun family focused program with you.
Pack 700 has an open enrollment policy where you may join at any time of the year.
Please visit our beascout.org information page to submit a general request for more information in joining our pack.
